This week has been filled with wonderful family time. It started with a visit from my Aunt Barbara, followed by an early birthday celebration at Ciocia Anetka’s. We also met up with my mom for a nice dinner, and wrapped it all up with a sushi lunch alongside our good friend Maciek, who flew in from Miami a few days earlier. It’s always great to reconnect with loved ones—especially when food and laughter are involved!
On the motorcycle front, I scheduled the 600-mile service at the BMW dealer, which included an oil change, a full inspection, and some standard steering checks. Everything went smoothly, though it turned into a bit of an all-day affair. The only hiccup was a minor pull to the left during a test ride. The dealer couldn’t pinpoint the cause without taking things apart, so that’s something Filip and I will dig into before I start riding it.
They also pointed out that the center stand was slightly bent, but still perfectly functional. Of course, I already knew that—I was just hoping they’d have a quick fix. No such luck. That said, my OCD will probably win out—I’ll either wrestle it back into shape or cave and replace it entirely.
My appointment was at 11 a.m., and by the time we unloaded the bike, had the service done, test rode it, and loaded it back up, it was close to 4:30 p.m. So, yes... it became a full-day event. But overall, it felt good to get the first service out of the way and spend time catching up with family and friends throughout the week.

Their demo bike was identical to mine, aside from a different exhaust and road tires. Mine’s the one parked farther out.

After returning from the dealer, I made a quick stop at the local gas station to top off the tank before rolling it back into Filip’s garage.

While Filip and Ania were off enjoying Europe, their lawn back home was definitely in need of a trim.

A hot summer day at the Lake Michigan beach? Hard to beat that.

The boys joined some neighborhood kids for a bit of fishing on First Street.

Thank you for such a wonderful visit, Ciocia. It felt really nice to finally spend some time together and catch up.

This photo instantly reminded me of one of my favorite Jim Carrey comedies.

Happy Birthday Ciocia Anetka!

Spent the afternoon with my mom, sharing a goose dinner and a peaceful walk to the park.

The boys love swimming in the pool after dark, when the lights come on and the water glows.

Loved catching up with Maciek—and the all-you-can-eat sushi was just as good as the company.
